Masters Rowing

Masters Open Rowing is for scullers and sweep rowers who want to improve technical skills and maintain general fitness by participating in a regular coached workout.  Participants must be RRC members who have an up-to-date USRowing waiver and who are capable swimmers.  Social distancing, masks and equipment cleaning will be maintained according to the posted guidelines. Continued enrollment in these programs is at the discretion of the coach.

Fall Programs 

2024 Fall Rowing

DESCRIPTION

Sculling class focusing on skill development and fitness, with a potential for race preparation. Quads and doubles mostly, with some singles and sweep boats mixed in. 


Open to all adult members with at least one novice class completed or with a comparable rowing experience, at the discretion of the coach. 


Coaches' bios


RRC membership,  program fee and signed US Rowing waiver are required for participation. 


Refunds only for medical reasons or in the case of program cancellation. Program can be cancelled if minimum requirements are not met or due to unforeseen circumstances.

DESCRIPTION

A sculling class taught by Roger Payne, for rowers with some prior rowing experience. The primary objective of this class is to get rowers familiar and comfortable in singles so they are capable of taking and passing the Captain's test. Note the Captains test will not be offered during the class but can be scheduled  with the Boathouse Captain upon completion of the class.

Sweep and Sculling 

DESCRIPTION

Join us for masters combined sweep and sculling program, with focus on skill development and race preparation. Preferences for the type of a boat/ rowing style will be respected. Race participation is not mandatory.


Open to adults with at least one intermediate class completed or a comparable rowing experience and at the discretion of the coach.
