Learn to Row with RRC

Junior Learn to Row

DESCRIPTION

Learn to Row (LTR) for Juniors is designed for those age 13–18 with little or no rowing experience who would like to learn the basics of sculling. Participants learn about safety, boat parts and terms, and the physical fitness relevant to rowing. Participants start out learning the correct form on a rowing machine (ashore), then move into 8x+ (8 rowers with a coxswain,) 4x (4 rowers with or without a cox) or 2x sculling shells.  At least one experienced RRC Coach in a launch (motorboat) oversees practices to motivate and advise on technique.


Junior LTR includes Junior membership for first-time rowers.

Adult Learn to Row - June

DESCRIPTION

Learn to Row (LTR) is designed for those with little or no rowing experience who would like to learn the basics of  rowing. Participants learn about safety, boat parts and terms, and the physical fitness relevant to rowing. Participants start out learning the correct form on a rowing machine (ashore), then move into large boats designed for stability. LTR students then progress to 90–120 minute, on-the-water practices in various  sweep (1 oar) and sculling (2 oars) boats. 


Adult LTR includes RRC membership for first-time rowers.
